As a psychologist trained in systemic counseling and therapy, as well as emotion-focused couple therapy (EFT), I would like to accompany you on your personal journey. I have several years of clinical experience working with people of different ages, backgrounds, and relationship constellations. This experience has shown me that every person and every family has a wealth of potential to cope well with crises. As a systemic therapist, I can help you identify these resources and use them in a targeted manner. A warm and trusting atmosphere for conversation is very important to me. When working with couples in particular, I also use elements of emotion-focused couples therapy according to Sue Johnson.
I am a rainbow-friendly therapist and am sensitive to specific issues and questions that can arise in a life of LGBTQIA+ diversity.
All life and relationship concepts are welcome with me!
Practice for systemic individual therapy and couples therapy
Emotion-focused couples therapy (EFT)
My systemic individual therapy is aimed at people who, for a variety of reasons, feel disoriented or internally blocked. A literal life crisis caused by external circumstances can also be a reason for individual counseling. Systemic individual therapy is a recognized psychotherapy method based on the assumption that social relationships (e.g., in partnerships, families, friendships, and among colleagues) have a significant impact on each person's experiences and behavior.
Therefore, the entire “social system” of relevant relationships is usually addressed. A central approach in systemic individual therapy and counseling is to focus on resources and solutions. Special attention is paid to the client's (sometimes unconscious or hidden) strengths and potential, which can be used to strengthen psychological resilience and overcome crises. Sometimes two to three sessions are enough to identify these (short-term counseling).
In other cases, several sessions are needed to find solutions together and integrate them into everyday life in a sustainable way.
The reasons for seeking systemic couples therapy are as varied as the people and couples themselves. Often, there are many arguments or discussions, and both or one side feels misunderstood. A feeling of stagnation or a lack of good communication is described. However, it may also be that infidelity or recurring thoughts of separation occur, or a couple experiences recurring dissatisfaction in their sexuality. All of these issues can be addressed in couples therapy. It is also possible to provide support during a separation process if a couple decides to go down this path.
I am trained in two therapeutic approaches: systemic therapy and emotion-focused couples therapy (EFT according to Sue Johnson). The combination of both approaches offers a holistic treatment concept that combines the strengths of both methods.
Emotion-focused couples therapy (EFT) effectively helps couples to deeply understand entrenched, dysfunctional, hurtful patterns of conflict. By deeply feeling and understanding your own emotional processes and those of your partner, you can develop a whole new way of interacting with each other. This is characterized by a stronger bond, greater satisfaction, and deep trust between both partners.
Using methods from systemic family therapy and couples therapy, I help couples by viewing their relationship as a complex system. This involves more than just analyzing the individual behavior of each partner. Rather, I view the relationship in the context of the entire social environment and mutual influences (family, children, career, etc.). This enables couples to better understand and change their behavior patterns, leading to improved communication and a stronger emotional connection.

*Billing through statutory health insurance and reimbursement of costs is not possible, as I am not licensed as a psychotherapist. Low-income earners, students, or unemployed individuals may be eligible for a special rate; I have a limited number of discounted therapy slots available. If you are an individual client with private health insurance or supplementary alternative medicine insurance, it may be possible to bill the costs of psychotherapy according to the fee schedule for alternative practitioners (GebüH Section 19: Psychotherapy).
Services provided as part of naturopathic activities as psychotherapeutic healing or preventive treatment are exempt from sales tax in accordance with § 4 No. 14 letter a UStG, i.e., no 19% sales tax is added. Since the quality of relationships has been shown to have a strong influence on our mental health (as numerous scientific studies have demonstrated), psychotherapeutic or psychopreventive intervention is indicated in almost all cases of couples therapy.
My offices are located in a psychotherapy practice in Berlin Kreuzberg, directly at the Görlitzer Bahnhof subway station.
